West Northants Woodturners has about 50 members of varying skill levels from absolute beginners up. We meet regularly on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 7.00pm to 9.30pm in Weedon Village Hall.
There is a £15 annual membership fee supplemented by a £5 charge for everyone for attendance at meetings (including visitors and prospective members) and an optional raffle at £1 a ticket. We now have card reader technology so can accept payments by card for any purchases. If you wish to join the club, you can do so at any of the meetings, or if you have any questions please contact us via the Contacts page or email us at info@westnorthantswoodturners.co.uk and we’ll get back to you.
The usual meeting format is for a guest turner, or one of our members, to demonstrate their skills whilst entertaining and informing the audience. Some “Hands On” meetings are arranged where members are able to take part using one of the club’s lathes to gain practical experience. Meetings also include a drinks and biscuits break (Covid rules permitting) and on the first Wednesday of the month we have an open competition where members can show their recent work and compete for the Turner of the Year prize.
We run a shop which carries a limited stock of useful woodworking consumables. Wood from local sources is available from time to time.
The Club is fully insured.
